How to spot a translation mistake

Even useful translation does not guarantee the exact meaning of every sentence. Take particular care with names, numbers, negatives and words whose meaning depends on context.

When the risk is higher

  • People talk at the same time or quickly.
  • There is background noise, a poor connection, or unusual names and places.
  • A phrase is short but lacks context: “not before Friday” is easily confused with “by Friday”.
  • The conversation is about money, health, the law or safety.

How to double-check

Ask the other person to say it in different words. Split a long sentence into two short ones. Write an important number in digits and confirm it in a separate message. If the decision matters, bring in a professional translator or a specialist.

Translation in AiThao is made for everyday conversation, but it should not be the only basis for an important decision. Being clear about the limits makes the feature easier to rely on.

A habit that helps

Agree on the topic first, talk it through by voice, and finish with a short written summary. That gives both of you a chance to notice and fix a misunderstanding.

Questions

Can I trust it with everyday phrases?

It can help you understand the other person, but quality varies with context and conditions. If something sounds strange, ask again.

What should I do with an address or an amount?

Send it again in digits or in writing, and ask the other person to confirm it.
