Start with a readable original
Photograph the page straight on, in good light and without glare. Crop distractions but keep complete lines: cutting off a word can change the meaning. PDFs with selectable text are usually easier to read than scans or handwriting. If you cannot make out the letters yourself, ask for a clearer picture.
Open the attachment and compare
Open the photo or supported document from the chat and choose translation. In a document, check the page you need and switch between original and translation. If no text is found, try a clearer picture of the relevant area. Translating text does not promise an exact reproduction of tables, captions or the original file’s layout.
Check details before you reply
Compare names, dates, addresses and amounts with the original. Across countries, confirm the currency and time zone. Send the important line as an ordinary message and ask the other person to confirm its meaning. If a translation sounds odd, ask the sender about the original wording instead of guessing from context.
Translation and privacy
Translate recognized text in photos, video frames and documents. Text is sent to a cloud service; translation can make mistakes and uses the sender’s allowance. Availability depends on the app version.
