AiThaoCalls without translation
Between two phones that support it, a call is end-to-end encrypted, and a lock on the call screen shows it. Calls are not recorded; a call log (who, when, how long) is kept so you can see your history.
Calls with translation
When you speak different languages, either person can turn translation on, and it starts once both agree. Each person then hears the other in their own language, or reads subtitles where a spoken translation is not available. A translated call is not end-to-end encrypted, because speech has to reach the translation service; the lock disappears to show it.
On a weak connection
Calls run over WebRTC and adapt to the network. When no direct route between the two phones can be found, the call is relayed so it still connects. Translation needs a steady connection; somewhere quiet and one person speaking at a time give the best result.

Are group calls available?
Not yet. Calls in AiThao are between two people.
Is video translated?
No. Only speech is translated, and video is never sent to the translation service.
