For the conversation you want to remember
When you discuss plans or explain something across languages, a summary helps you revisit the conversation afterwards. It is made from the written transcript of the translated call.
A summary is generated by AI. Check important details with the other person rather than treating it as a verified record.
How to enable a summary
- Enable the summary for the translated call. Either participant can do this; the other person sees a notice in the call.
- The notice is separate from agreeing to call translation. It does not ask the other person for a second approval.
- If the other person has refused summaries in Settings, you cannot make a summary of a call with them.
What is sent to the cloud
To create the summary, the written transcript goes to a cloud AI provider. This is text, not an audio recording. AiThao stores neither the transcript nor the resulting summary.
Calls with translation are not end-to-end encrypted while translation is on. Read the call security explanation before using the feature for a sensitive conversation.
Your choice
You can refuse summaries of calls with you in Settings. A summary is made on request; call history is a separate feature and is not the summary of what you said.

Does AiThao record the call to make a summary?
No. The summary uses the written transcript of the translated conversation, not a recording of the audio.
Can I prevent summaries of calls with me?
Yes. Refuse summaries in Settings; the other participant cannot make one of a call with you.
Do summaries work for ordinary phone calls?
This page describes calls with translation between AiThao users, not ordinary telephone calls.
